The European Council on Foreign Relations, the European Cultural Foundation and Le Grand Continent are delighted to invite you to a panel discussion dedicated to the key political dilemmas that the EU is facing in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic and Russia’s war in Ukraine.

In May, ECFR will publish the pilot edition of the European Sentiment Compass – the result of a partnership between ECFR and the European Cultural Foundation. This initiative seeks to understand the consequences of the last two crises that the European Union has faced —the Covid-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine—on its citizens’ sense of belonging to Europe. The discussion will focus on what the experience of two crises means for the various challenges that Europeans are currently facing, particularly in the areas of international security, climate change, the rule of law, financial solidarity and migration. We will also explore the importance of a cultural underpinning for Europe’s capacity to make sense of these challenges and effectively respond to them.
