It’s no news that ‘populism’ is on the rise, in Europe as in the rest of the world. But what does this actually means ? Far from being uniform, populist movements are taking various shapes, sometimes parallel, some other times contradictory. Last month, Marion Maréchal called at The Oxford Union for a “reunification of populisms on the right and the left » in Europe. What is the geopolitical reality of populisms and to what extent do they foster a ‘new European order’ ?
