Elles s\u2019int\u00e9ressent \u00e9galement aux m\u00e9thodes de production et de diffusion des savoirs, en mettant l\u2019accent sur les images et les contre-archives. Ses travaux explorent l\u2019ethnographie de l\u2019\u00c9tat en France (migrations, fronti\u00e8res nationales et clivages sociaux), ainsi que l\u2019ethnographie de la violence en Iran (la longue r\u00e9volution iranienne (1979-1989), les exp\u00e9riences et les h\u00e9ritages postr\u00e9volutionnaires). elle est une des sp\u00e9cialistes des manifestations de 2022 en Iran, et de leurs r\u00e9percussions. \r\n\r\nChowra Makaremi dirige le programme de recherche ERC \u00ab OFF-SITE \u00bb (\u00ab Violence, formation de l\u2019\u00c9tat et politiques de la m\u00e9moire : une ethnographie hors site de l\u2019Iran postr\u00e9volutionnaire \u00bb).
