Il entre \u00e0 l'universit\u00e9 de Stockholm dont il ressort dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 de philosophie et conf\u00e9rencier jusqu'en 1972. \r\n\r\nIl publie un premier recueil de po\u00e9sie intitul\u00e9 <em>Minnet i exil<\/em> \u00e9crit en su\u00e9dois en 1969. Son premier roman, <em>Utl\u00e4nningar<\/em>, est publi\u00e9 en 1970. Entre 1972 et 1976, il travaille comme r\u00e9dacteur pour le magazine Bonniers, qui est aussi son \u00e9diteur d'alors. Depuis, il se consacre \u00e0 l'\u00e9criture de romans, de pi\u00e8ces de th\u00e9\u00e2tre et de sc\u00e9narios pour le cin\u00e9ma et \u00e0 la traduction.\r\n\r\nIl est l'un des deux laur\u00e9ats su\u00e9dois du prix Dobloug en
