Avant d'occuper ce poste, Piera \u00e9tait la dirigeante et la fondatrice de l'Initiative Oc\u00e9an durable pour tous \u00e0 l'OCDE. Piera a travaill\u00e9 \u00e0 l'OCDE entre 2011 et 2024, o\u00f9 elle a dirig\u00e9 les travaux sur le financement du d\u00e9veloppement durable, notamment sur le financement multilat\u00e9ral du d\u00e9veloppement, les petits \u00c9tats insulaires en d\u00e9veloppement et la finance pour la transition. En 2022, Piera a \u00e9galement g\u00e9r\u00e9 un large portefeuille de projets nationaux sur le tourisme durable au sein du Centre de l'OCDE pour l'entrepreneuriat, les PME, les r\u00e9gions et les villes. Avant de rejoindre l'OCDE, Piera a men\u00e9 et g\u00e9r\u00e9 des analyses \u00e9conomiques sur des questions politiques li\u00e9es au d\u00e9veloppement \u00e9conomique, principalement dans les pays \u00e0 revenu faible et interm\u00e9diaire, notamment \u00e0 l'Organisation des Nations Unies pour l'alimentation et l'agriculture (ONU-FAO), en tant que consultante ind\u00e9pendante pour l'agence italienne des ressources naturelles et de gestion de l'eau, et a travaill\u00e9 \u00e0 la Commission \u00e9conomique des Nations Unies pour l'Europe.
