Il a d\u00fb notamment g\u00e9rer le cas \u00e9pineux de Juan Barros, \u00e9v\u00eaque d\u2019Osorno, accus\u00e9 d\u2019avoir couvert activement des abus aggrav\u00e9s, pr\u00e9lat que le pape Fran\u00e7ois semblait vouloir d\u00e9fendre dans un premier temps, avant que Chomali Garib ne le convainque de la gravit\u00e9 des charges contre sa personne.
