Apr\u00e8s avoir servi au sein du Judge Advocate General\u2019s Corps (JAG) de l\u2019arm\u00e9e de l\u2019air de 2008 \u00e0 2012, il a rejoint le cabinet d\u2019avocats Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher &amp; Flom, o\u00f9 il s'est sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9 en droit commercial. Dans ce r\u00f4le, il conseille et repr\u00e9sente des clients devant les cours et les administrations f\u00e9d\u00e9rales pour obtenir des mesures antidumping et d\u2019autres actions de protection commerciale. Il poursuit son activit\u00e9 au sein du cabinet Kirkland &amp; Ellis entre 2016 et 2017, puis rejoint le bureau du Repr\u00e9sentant du Commerce en tant que directeur de cabinet (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Chief of Staff<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">) pendant trois ans. \u00c0 son d\u00e9part de l\u2019administration f\u00e9d\u00e9rale, il retrouve le droit du commerce international et travaille, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 son retour dans les cercles du pouvoir, comme associ\u00e9 au sein du cabinet King &amp; Spalding.<\/span>\r\n<h2><b>Profil<\/b><\/h2>\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Le nouvel USTR est un proche de Robert Lighthizer, dont il fut le coll\u00e8gue au sein du cabinet Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher &amp; Flom, et qui l'a fait venir au sein du bureau du Repr\u00e9sentant au Commerce pour en devenir le directeur de cabinet lors de la premi\u00e8re Administration Trump. En 2023, il rejoint le think tank n\u00e9oconservateur The Vandenberg Coalition, cr\u00e9\u00e9 par Elliott Abrams. Ce dernier, v\u00e9t\u00e9ran des Administrations Reagan et Bush, avait critiqu\u00e9 Trump en 2016, puis avait rejoint l\u2019Administration en 2019 comme Repr\u00e9sentant sp\u00e9cial pour le Venezuela, puis pour l'Iran.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">En mati\u00e8re de politique commerciale, l\u2019approche de Jamieson Green semble coh\u00e9rente avec son pass\u00e9 d\u2019avocat sp\u00e9cialiste du commerce international, puisqu\u2019il pr\u00e9conise la mise en place de mesures correctives face aux pratiques jug\u00e9es injustes des partenaires commerciaux des \u00c9tats-Unis. Il est favorable \u00e0 une plus grande assertivit\u00e9 des \u00c9tats-Unis dans le cadre de l\u2019USMCA, pour que le Canada et le Mexique respectent leurs engagements en mati\u00e8re d\u2019acc\u00e8s des producteurs am\u00e9ricains \u00e0 leurs march\u00e9s, ainsi qu'\u00e0 une forte intervention contre les taxes sur les services num\u00e9riques impos\u00e9es par les pays tiers.
