Il a conduit en parall\u00e8le un travail sur l'anthropologie contemporaine et son tournant ontologique, qui a abouti \u00e0 un livre d'entretiens avec Philippe Descola, La composition des mondes<\/em> (Flammarion, 2014) et au collectif dirig\u00e9 avec G. Salmon et P. Skafish, Comparative metaphysics<\/em> (Rowman & Littlefield, 2017).\r\n\r\nIl a ensuite entrepris une \u00e9tude sur l'histoire des liens entre la processus de conqu\u00eate de l'autonomie politique dans l'Europe moderne et les transformations du support mat\u00e9riel de ces soci\u00e9t\u00e9s. Ce travail, qui a constitu\u00e9 son HDR, est publi\u00e9 sous le titre Abondance et libert\u00e9. Une histoire environnementale des id\u00e9es politiques<\/em> (La D\u00e9couverte, 2020, trad. anglaise Polity 2021).\r\n\r\nIl poursuit d\u00e9sormais ses travaux dans plusieurs directions: une r\u00e9flexion sur l'adaptation des r\u00e9gimes de protection sociale aux cons\u00e9quences \u00e9conomiques de la r\u00e9ponse \u00e0 la crise climatique, et en parall\u00e8le il \u00e9tudie les relations entre l'\u00e9quilibre pacifique des puissances mondiales et la menace
