Le Danemark est \u00e0 la fois un pays et un royaume&#160;: d\u2019un c\u00f4t\u00e9, le Danemark m\u00e9tropolitain, situ\u00e9 sur la presqu\u2019\u00eele du Jutland et un petit archipel coinc\u00e9 entre Mer Baltique et Mer du Nord, de l\u2019autre, la couronne danoise form\u00e9e de trois pays constitutifs&#160;: ledit Danemark, le Groenland, et les Iles F\u00e9ro\u00e9s, selon une structure administrative analogue au Royaume-Uni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce qu\u2019on appelle parfois le \u00ab&#160;commonwealth danois&#160;\u00bb n\u2019\u00e9chappe pas \u00e0 la tendance contemporaine de s\u00e9cession&#160;: apr\u00e8s l\u2019Ecosse et la Catalogne, c\u2019est au tour du petit archipel des Iles F\u00e9ro\u00e9s, situ\u00e9 entre l\u2019Islande et le Nord du Royaume-Uni, d\u2019organiser un r\u00e9f\u00e9rundum sur l\u2019autod\u00e9termination le 25 avril prochain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il s\u2019agit de se doter d\u2019une nouvelle constitution qui puisse red\u00e9finir l\u2019exercice d\u2019une souverainet\u00e9 populaire pleine et enti\u00e8re sur l\u2019ensemble du territoire peupl\u00e9 de 50 448 habitants. Les Iles F\u00e9ro\u00e9s appartenant au Danemark depuis 1388, c\u2019est peut-\u00eatre une nouvelle \u00e9tape dans la d\u00e9composition historique d\u2019un \u00ab&#160;Empire nordique&#160;\u00bb, expression d\u00e9signant le pr\u00e9-carr\u00e9 danois, datant de la p\u00e9riode m\u00e9di\u00e9vale, sur les mers du Nord-Ouest.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>N\u2019appartenant pas \u00e0 l\u2019Union europ\u00e9enne et libres de fixer leur propre politique budg\u00e9taire et commerciale, les F\u00e9ro\u00efens s\u2019interrogent sur les int\u00e9r\u00eats \u00e9conomiques \u00e9ventuels d\u2019une int\u00e9gration plus pouss\u00e9e avec les politiques communautaires, bien qu\u2019ils attendent \u00e9galement l\u2019issue des n\u00e9gociations du Brexit (le Royaume-Uni est le premier importateur des produits f\u00e9ro\u00efens).
