En 2016, la compagnie \u00d6BB a rachet\u00e9 \u00e0 la Deutsche Bahn une partie de ses liaisons nocturnes, alors structurellement d\u00e9ficitaires et consid\u00e9r\u00e9es comme d\u00e9pass\u00e9es, afin de les moderniser et d\u2019en faire une alternative attractive et rentable reliant les m\u00e9tropoles europ\u00e9ennes (Berlin, Hambourg, Munich, Zurich, Milan ou encore Rome). C\u00f4t\u00e9 Suisse, TGV Lyria compte augmenter de 30&#160;% sa capacit\u00e9 de si\u00e8ge entre Gen\u00e8ve et Paris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Au-del\u00e0 des avantages connus de ce mode de transport, la nouvelle donne environnementale est une des composantes essentielles de cet engouement europ\u00e9en, alors que le \u00ab&#160;flygskam&#160;\u00bb, terme su\u00e9dois signifiant la honte de prendre l\u2019avion, se popularise en dehors des cercles militants. Le transport ferroviaire pr\u00e9sente un int\u00e9r\u00eat \u00e9cologique ind\u00e9niable, bien que l\u2019\u00e9lectrification du r\u00e9seau soit encore parcellaire (55&#160;% du r\u00e9seau d\u2019un panel de 29 pays europ\u00e9ens, en progression modeste sur ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es (+1&#160;% entre 2013 et 2017&nbsp;<span class='whitespace-nowrap'><span id='easy-footnote-6-48638' class='easy-footnote-margin-adjust'><\/span><span class='easy-footnote'><a href='https:\/\/legrandcontinent.eu\/fr\/2019\/10\/04\/le-projet-de-fusion-thalys-eurostar-un-nouvel-envol-pour-le-transport-ferroviaire-europeen\/#easy-footnote-bottom-6-48638' title='&lt;a href=&quot;https:\/\/www.irg-rail.eu\/download\/5\/604\/IRG-Rail-SeventhMarketMonitoringReport.pdf&quot;&gt;Seventh Annual Market Monitoring Report&lt;\/a&gt;, Independent Regulators\u2019 Group-Rail, Avril 2019.'><sup>6<\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/span>). Le programme d\u00e9di\u00e9, nomm\u00e9 \u00ab&#160;R\u00e9seau transeurop\u00e9en de transport&#160;\u00bb (TEN-T)&#160;\u00bb, se d\u00e9cline en plusieurs principes caract\u00e9ristiques des politiques publiques europ\u00e9ennes&#160;: standardisation, lib\u00e9ralisation et d\u00e9veloppement de l\u2019interop\u00e9rabilit\u00e9. Il s\u2019est mat\u00e9rialis\u00e9 par le vote de quatre paquets r\u00e9glementaires, les \u00ab&#160;paquets ferroviaires&#160;\u00bb, dont le dernier date de 2016. La nouvelle Commission Von Der Leyen devrait prolonger ces efforts en ce sens, sa pr\u00e9sidente ambitionnant \u00ab&#160;d\u2019achever le plus rapidement possible&#160;\u00bb le TEN-T.
