Le 4 septembre, le journal groenlandais <em>Sermitsiaq<\/em> relatait que la Chine avait retir\u00e9 son offre de participation aux travaux de renforcement des a\u00e9roports de Nuuk et Iulissat&nbsp;<span class='whitespace-nowrap'><span id='easy-footnote-1-39874' class='easy-footnote-margin-adjust'><\/span><span class='easy-footnote'><a href='https:\/\/legrandcontinent.eu\/fr\/2019\/06\/07\/la-chine-ne-participera-pas-aux-travaux-de-deux-aeroports-au-groenland\/#easy-footnote-bottom-1-39874' title='GRONHOLT e QIU, &lt;a href=&quot;https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-china-silkroad-greenland\/china-withdraws-bid-for-greenland-airport-projects-sermitsiaq-newspaper-idUSKCN1T5191&quot;&gt;China Withdraws Bid for Greenland Airport Projects&amp;#160;: Sermitsiaq Newspaper&lt;\/a&gt;, Reuters, 4 juin 2019.'><sup>1<\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/span>. Le journal cite un directeur de China Communications Construction Co. (CCCC), la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 d&rsquo;\u00c9tat de P\u00e9kin, ainsi que cinq autres concurrents inclus dans la liste des adjudicataires de l\u2019appel d\u2019offres en vue des travaux de Kalaallit Airports International, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 anonyme qui s\u2019occupe du projet de renforcement des a\u00e9roports de Nuuk et d\u2019Iulissat. La CCCC a justifi\u00e9 son retrait par la difficult\u00e9 d\u2019obtenir des visas pour le transfert de ses employ\u00e9s, ce qui la d\u00e9savantagerait par rapport aux autres concurrents. La valeur totale des travaux est estim\u00e9e \u00e0 559 milliards de dollars et la date limite de soumission des offres est fix\u00e9e au 14 juin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les \u00c9tats-Unis et le Danemark regardent d\u2019un mauvais oeil les ambitions chinoises au Groenland. Washington craint la pr\u00e9sence chinoise sur une \u00eele qui h\u00e9berge des bases militaires et balistiques strat\u00e9giques pour surveiller l&rsquo;espace et le p\u00f4le nord, qui constitue le moyen le plus rapide de relier l&rsquo;Europe \u00e0 l&rsquo;Am\u00e9rique du Nord&nbsp;<span class='whitespace-nowrap'><span id='easy-footnote-2-39874' class='easy-footnote-margin-adjust'><\/span><span class='easy-footnote'><a href='https:\/\/legrandcontinent.eu\/fr\/2019\/06\/07\/la-chine-ne-participera-pas-aux-travaux-de-deux-aeroports-au-groenland\/#easy-footnote-bottom-2-39874' title='HUSSEINI Talal,&lt;a href=&quot;https:\/\/www.airforce-technology.com\/features\/thule-military-base-in-greenland\/&quot;&gt; Thule Air Base&amp;#160;: inside the US\u2019s northernmost military base in Greenland&lt;\/a&gt;, Air Force Technology, 5 juin 2019.'><sup>2<\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/span>. Copenhague, en revanche, ne voulait pas contrarier l&rsquo;alli\u00e9 am\u00e9ricain et craignait qu&rsquo;en se \u201cvendant\u201d \u00e0 la Chine, le Groenland obtienne l&rsquo;ind\u00e9pendance \u00e9conomique n\u00e9cessaire pour obtenir l&rsquo;ind\u00e9pendance politique un jour. La Chine est d\u00e9j\u00e0 fortement impliqu\u00e9e dans l&rsquo;\u00e9conomie de l&rsquo;\u00eele, en particulier dans le secteur minier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Afin de contrecarrer la p\u00e9n\u00e9tration des capitaux chinois dans le projet li\u00e9 au renforcement des a\u00e9roports de Nuuk et Iulissat (avec lequel le Groenland entend devenir une escale importante pour les vols entre l&rsquo;Europe et l&rsquo;Am\u00e9rique du Nord), le Comit\u00e9 des finances avait approuv\u00e9 en mars dernier un accord pour l\u2019achat par l\u2019\u00c9tat danois de 33,3&#160;% des actions de Kalaallit Airports International&nbsp;<span class='whitespace-nowrap'><span id='easy-footnote-3-39874' class='easy-footnote-margin-adjust'><\/span><span class='easy-footnote'><a
