La US Navy a remis en service la Deuxi\u00e8me Flotte sous le commandement de la Fleet Force Command, les forces atlantiques de la Navy. Elle sera command\u00e9e par un amiral de rang 0-9 (\u00e9quivalent d\u2019un amiral trois \u00e9toiles &#8211; le grade de cinq \u00e9toiles ne pouvant \u00eatre atteint qu\u2019en temps de guerre) avec comme objectif de contrer la patrouille russe en Atlantique ouest. Bien qu\u2019elle ne doive pas rendre de compte au Commandement am\u00e9ricain en Europe, elle aidera \u00e0 coordonner les op\u00e9rations navales avec les marines d\u2019Europe de l\u2019ouest (<strong>1<\/strong>).\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La renaissance de la Deuxi\u00e8me Flotte r\u00e9pond \u00e0 l\u2019intention de l\u2019OTAN d\u2019\u00e9tablir un commandement atlantique autonome. En assurant la protection des voies maritimes contre les sous-marins, elle permettra aux hommes et aux mat\u00e9riels de rejoindre rapidement l\u2019Europe en cas de crise, comme c\u2019\u00e9tait le cas durant les deux guerres mondiales et durant la guerre froide (<strong>2<\/strong>). Cette nouvelle emphase sur la puissance navale am\u00e9ricaine dans l\u2019Atlantique signera \u00e0 n\u2019en pas douter l\u2019extension de la doctrine de bataille navale-a\u00e9rienne de d\u00e9ni d\u2019acc\u00e8s (A2\/AD) invent\u00e9e pour lutter contre l\u2019ascension chinoise dans le Pacifique (<strong>3<\/strong>).
