Le chef du gouvernement a convoqu\u00e9 ces \u00e9lections pr\u00e8s d\u2019un an avant la fin de la l\u00e9gislature, invoquant l\u2019instabilit\u00e9 internationale et la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d&rsquo;obtenir un nouveau mandat face aux risques \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques et inflationnistes li\u00e9s au conflit au Moyen-Orient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"iframe-container wp-block-image wp-block-image-medium  iframe-dw\">\n\t<div>\n\t\t<iframe class=\"absolute w-full h-full pin-t pin-l\" title=\"titolo\" aria-label=\"Interactive line chart\" src=\"\/\/datawrapper.dwcdn.net\/tpTlt\/\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>La vie politique maltaise est domin\u00e9e par le Parti nationaliste (PN) et le Parti travailliste (PL). Aucun autre parti n&rsquo;a obtenu seul un si\u00e8ge \u00e0 la Chambre des d\u00e9put\u00e9s depuis 1962.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Depuis 1932, tous les Premiers ministres maltais sont issus de l&rsquo;un ou de l&rsquo;autre parti. Il en va de m\u00eame pour les pr\u00e9sidents depuis que le pays est devenu une r\u00e9publique, en 1974.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Le Premier ministre actuel, Robert Abela, avait remport\u00e9 les derni\u00e8res \u00e9lections l\u00e9gislatives de 2022 avec 55,11&#160;% des voix, soit l&rsquo;un des \u00e9carts les plus importants de l&rsquo;histoire \u00e9lectorale maltaise.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>En cas de victoire, il s&rsquo;agirait du quatri\u00e8me mandat d&rsquo;affil\u00e9e pour le Parti travailliste, au pouvoir depuis 2013, un record.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>La campagne de Robert Abela a surtout mis l&rsquo;accent sur la stabilit\u00e9 \u00e9conomique, alors que Malte est particuli\u00e8rement d\u00e9pendante pour ses importations d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ainsi, l&rsquo;organisation d&rsquo;\u00e9lections anticip\u00e9es pourrait permettre au Parti travailliste de briguer un nouveau mandat tant que la conjoncture \u00e9conomique reste favorable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mais ce calendrier r\u00e9pond \u00e9galement \u00e0 une logique opportuniste, alors que le Parti nationaliste est en pleine phase de recomposition, suite \u00e0 la d\u00e9mission de son leader en juin 2025 et \u00e0 l&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e d&rsquo;Alex Borg \u00e0 sa t\u00eate&nbsp;<span class='whitespace-nowrap'><span id='easy-footnote-1-337270' class='easy-footnote-margin-adjust'><\/span><span class='easy-footnote note-digits-1'><a href='https:\/\/legrandcontinent.eu\/fr\/2026\/05\/30\/elections-anticipees-a-malte-le-parti-travailliste-est-il-en-passe-de-remporter-un-quatrieme-mandat\/#easy-footnote-bottom-1-337270' title='Albert Galea, \u00ab&amp;#160;&lt;a href=&quot;https:\/\/www.independent.com.mt\/articles\/2026-04-12\/local-news\/The-four-factors-which-may-be-pushing-Robert-Abela-into-calling-an-early-election-6736288690&quot;&gt;The four factors which may be pushing Robert Abela into calling an early election&lt;\/a&gt;&amp;#160;\u00bb, &lt;em&gt;The Malta Independent&lt;\/em&gt;, 12 avril 2026.'><sup>1<\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Malte figure toujours parmi les pays ayant enregistr\u00e9 les plus fortes baisses de score de l&rsquo;Indice de perception de la corruption depuis 2012 \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chelle de l&rsquo;Union.
