L\u2019immixtion du pouvoir politique dans le domaine sportif n\u2019est pas nouveau dans le Golfe. En effet, les \u00c9mirats arabes unis et le Qatar ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 investi ce terrain depuis quelques temps. Les premiers ont pris le contr\u00f4le de Manchester City et ont mis sur pied le Grand Prix d\u2019Abu Dhabi en Formule 1 en 2009. Tandis que le second a investi dans le Paris Saint-Germain et accueille \u00e0 Doha le premier tournoi de tennis de la saison depuis 1993&nbsp;<span class='whitespace-nowrap'><span id='easy-footnote-2-33583' class='easy-footnote-margin-adjust'><\/span><span class='easy-footnote'><a href='https:\/\/legrandcontinent.eu\/fr\/2019\/05\/04\/le-rallye-dakar-2020-une-autre-arme-du-soft-power-saoudien\/#easy-footnote-bottom-2-33583' title='&lt;a href=&quot;https:\/\/www.liberation.fr\/depeches\/2019\/04\/26\/dakar-l-arabie-saoudite-vient-jouer-sur-le-terrain-du-qatar-analyse-une-experte_1723488&quot;&gt;Dakar&amp;#160;: \u2018L\u2019Arabie saoudite vient jouer sur le terrain du Qatar\u2019, analyse une experte&lt;\/a&gt;, Lib\u00e9ration, 26 avril 2019.'><sup>2<\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/span>.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En se d\u00e9localisant de la sorte, le Rallye Dakar s\u2019appr\u00eate \u00e0 vivre un troisi\u00e8me chapitre dans son existence apr\u00e8s vingt-neuf ann\u00e9es en Afrique et onze en Am\u00e9rique du Sud. Le choix de l\u2019Arabie saoudite pour accueillir cet \u00e9v\u00e8nement n\u2019est pas si \u00e9tonnant. Tout d\u2019abord, cette derni\u00e8re peut s\u2019appuyer sur 3,6 millions de kilom\u00e8tres carr\u00e9s de d\u00e9sert. Ensuite, comme l\u2019indiquait le pr\u00e9sident de l&rsquo;Autorit\u00e9 g\u00e9n\u00e9rale des sports, Abdulaziz ben Turki al Faisal al Saud, l\u2019organisation du Dakar s\u2019inscrit dans le projet <em>Vision 2030<\/em> voulu par l\u2019\u00c9tat saoudien&nbsp;<span class='whitespace-nowrap'><span id='easy-footnote-3-33583' class='easy-footnote-margin-adjust'><\/span><span class='easy-footnote'><a href='https:\/\/legrandcontinent.eu\/fr\/2019\/05\/04\/le-rallye-dakar-2020-une-autre-arme-du-soft-power-saoudien\/#easy-footnote-bottom-3-33583' title='&lt;a href=&quot;https:\/\/www.la-croix.com\/Sport\/Le-rallye-Dakar-aura-lieu-Arabie-Saoudite-2020-2019-04-15-1301015771&quot;&gt;Le rallye Dakar aura lieu en Arabie Saoudite en 2020&lt;\/a&gt;, La Croix, 15 avril2019.'><sup>3<\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/span>. Ce projet, port\u00e9 par le Prince h\u00e9ritier, vise \u00e0 se d\u00e9tourner de la rente p\u00e9troli\u00e8re et \u00e0 diversifier l\u2019\u00e9conomie nationale, notamment, en s\u2019investissant dans des projets internationaux.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si les relations diplomatiques entre l\u2019Arabie saoudite et le Qatar ne sont pas au beau fixe, cette attribution a r\u00e9joui le vainqueur du Dakar automobile 2019, Nasser al-Attiyah.
