Il s&rsquo;appelle Xuelong 2, c&rsquo;est le deuxi\u00e8me brise-glace de la flotte chinoise, mais le premier enti\u00e8rement produit sur le sol chinois, et le seul au monde capable de briser la glace en avan\u00e7ant et en reculant. La construction du Xuelong (qui signifie \u00ab&#160;dragon des neiges&#160;\u00bb) a d\u00e9but\u00e9 fin 2016 et a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9e gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la collaboration entre une entreprise d&rsquo;\u00c9tat chinoise (la China State Shipbuilding Corporation) et la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 finlandaise Aker Arctic Technology (<strong>2<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Avec ce nouveau venu, on remarque que la Chine a maintenant atteint (sinon d\u00e9pass\u00e9) les \u00c9tats-Unis en termes de capacit\u00e9 op\u00e9rationnelle dans l&rsquo;Arctique. Le seul brise-glace sous pavillon am\u00e9ricain (l&rsquo;Uscgc  Polar Star) a maintenant 42 ans et le gouvernement ne semble pas vouloir satisfaire les demandes du Congr\u00e8s pour de nouveaux investissements militaires dans l&rsquo;Arctique (<strong>1<\/strong>). Au contraire, P\u00e9kin prend la r\u00e9gion tr\u00e8s au s\u00e9rieux. Au d\u00e9but de cette ann\u00e9e, la Chine a publi\u00e9 pour la premi\u00e8re fois sa propre politique arctique et y a ins\u00e9r\u00e9 la route de l&rsquo;Arctique rendue possible par la fonte des glaces sous la nouvelle route de la soie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le lancement du Xuelong fait suite \u00e0 l&rsquo;annonce du d\u00e9but des travaux de construction d&rsquo;un navire de soutien aliment\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie nucl\u00e9aire, mentionn\u00e9e pour la premi\u00e8re fois par la China National Nuclear Corporation en juin dernier.
