Ces dix derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, l\u2019Union europ\u00e9enne a sign\u00e9 une vingtaine d\u2019accords de libre-\u00e9changes et, aujourd\u2019hui, ne pratique plus de droits de douane ni de restriction quantitative \u00e0 l&rsquo;importation avec une quarantaine de pays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019Inde, dont l\u2019Union est le principal partenaire commercial (14&#160;% de ses \u00e9changes total contre 11&#160;% pour la Chine et 9&#160;% pour les Etats-Unis), est depuis 2007 en pourparlers avec Bruxelles pour rentrer dans cette liste. Depuis le d\u00e9part du Royaume-Uni de la table des n\u00e9gociations, les membres de la Commission Europ\u00e9enne se montrent optimistes. Pendant longtemps, la signature d\u2019un accord a but\u00e9 sur les importants droits de douanes impos\u00e9s au whisky britannique (\u00e0 hauteur de 150&#160;% du prix de vente) ainsi que sur la crainte d\u2019une vague d\u2019immigration indienne due \u00e0 la simplification des proc\u00e9dures d\u2019obtention d\u2019un visa de travail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le Royaume-Uni, partenaire privil\u00e9gi\u00e9 de l\u2019Inde au sein du Commonwealth, mais dont la part des \u00e9changes avec l\u2019Inde a \u00e9t\u00e9 divis\u00e9e par trois en 20 ans, se voit donc aujourd\u2019hui concurrenc\u00e9 par la France et l\u2019Allemagne, dont les r\u00e9centes visites diplomatiques \u00e0 Delhi se voulaient annonciatrices de collaborations futures. Le chemin reste toutefois encore long avant la signature d\u2019un accord de libre-\u00e9change, Delhi tenant ferme des positions protectionnistes allant du non-respect des accords de l\u2019OMC sur
