Les scientifiques du National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) et du KwaZulu-Natal Research Innovation and Sequencing Platform (KRISP) y affirment que C.1.2 est \u00e0 ce jour le variant qui a le plus mut\u00e9 par rapport au SARS-COV 2 qui a \u00e9merg\u00e9 \u00e0 Wuhan en 2019.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Si le manque de donn\u00e9es ne permet pas pour l\u2019instant d\u2019\u00e9tayer ces pistes, les&nbsp; principales inqui\u00e9tudes relatives \u00e0 la d\u00e9couverte de ce nouveau variant sont li\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019efficacit\u00e9 des vaccins de premi\u00e8re g\u00e9n\u00e9ration, d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s pour la plupart en 2019 et en 2020. Rien ne permet toutefois d\u2019affirmer \u00e0 ce stade que le variant continuera de muter \u00e0 cette vitesse. Si tel \u00e9tait le cas, le danger serait que le virus devienne plus transmissible, provoque des formes plus graves et soit plus r\u00e9sistant aux vaccins. En l&rsquo;\u00e9tat, l&rsquo;un des auteurs du <em>preprint<\/em>, pour r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9moi suscit\u00e9 par la publication, a affirm\u00e9 qu&rsquo;en l&rsquo;absence de donn\u00e9es suppl\u00e9mentaires, il serait non-scientifique de dire que ce variant muterait deux fois plus vite que les autres.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Another non-scientific fact is that the C.1.2 evolves at double the speed. Apr\u00e8s avoir atteint un pic au d\u00e9but du mois de juillet avec pr\u00e8s de 20 000 nouveaux cas par jour, la tendance est aujourd\u2019hui \u00e0 la baisse en Afrique du Sud, approchant de la barre des 10 000 cas par jour, bien que le pays conserve un nombre de nouveaux cas par jour pour 1 million d\u2019habitants plus \u00e9lev\u00e9 que la moyenne mondiale (toutefois inf\u00e9rieur \u00e0 celui de pays comme la France ou du Royaume-Uni). Dans des proportions bien plus faibles, ce variant a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9tect\u00e9 en Angleterre, en Suisse, au Portugal, \u00e0 Maurice, en Chine et en Nouvelle-Z\u00e9lande&nbsp;<span class='whitespace-nowrap'><span id='easy-footnote-2-118743' class='easy-footnote-margin-adjust'><\/span><span class='easy-footnote'><a href='https:\/\/legrandcontinent.eu\/fr\/2021\/08\/31\/decouverte-dun-nouveau-variant-du-covid-19-potentiellement-resistant-aux-vaccins-de-premiere-generation\/#easy-footnote-bottom-2-118743' title='Our World in Data, &lt;a href=&quot;https:\/\/ourworldindata.org\/coronavirus\/country\/south-africa#daily-confirmed-cases-how-do-they-compare-to-other-countries&quot;&gt;Afrique du Sud&lt;\/a&gt;, 30 ao\u00fbt 2021.'><sup>2<\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Au-del\u00e0 des caract\u00e9ristiques du variant C.1.2, l\u2019\u00e9tude pr\u00e9liminaire propose une hypoth\u00e8se int\u00e9ressante sur ses conditions d\u2019apparition, qui seraient favoris\u00e9es chez les personnes malades durant une p\u00e9riode prolong\u00e9e (fr\u00e9quent chez les personnes immunod\u00e9prim\u00e9es), laissant au virus plus de temps pour muter. Selon cette hypoth\u00e8se, les personnes vaccin\u00e9es, moins susceptibles de contracter des formes graves ou longues de la maladie, pourraient donc \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle individuelle limiter l\u2019apparition de nouveaux variants.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"iframe-container wp-block-image wp-block-image-medium  iframe-dw\">\n\t<div>\n\t\t<iframe class=\"absolute w-full h-full pin-t pin-l\" title=\"titolo\" aria-label=\"Interactive line chart\" src=\"\/\/datawrapper.dwcdn.net\/2mCld\/1\/\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>L\u2019\u00e9mergence du variant Delta en Inde et du variant C.1.2 en Afrique du Sud indiquent que ces mutations ont plus tendance \u00e0 se d\u00e9velopper dans des pays disposant d\u2019une faible couverture vaccinale. La fracture qui continue de se creuser entre les pays du Nord et du Sud, cr\u00e9ant une situation d\u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/legrandcontinent.eu\/fr\/2021\/05\/05\/comment-leurope-et-les-etats-unis-peuvent-mettre-un-terme-a-lapartheid-vaccinal\/\">apartheid vaccinal<\/a>, pr\u00e9sente ainsi un danger \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle globale en ce que la circulation du virus et de ses variants continuera de toucher tous les pays du monde.
