En pocas d\u00e9cadas, construye un aut\u00e9ntico \u00abimperio\u00bb del caf\u00e9.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>En su libro\u00a0<em>Coffeeland<\/em>\u00a0(2020), el autor estadounidense Augustine Sedgewick explica c\u00f3mo Hill logr\u00f3 contribuir a la creaci\u00f3n de toda una econom\u00eda a partir de su experiencia en la industria de Manchester, su ciudad natal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Al remunerar a sus empleados principalmente con alimentos, Hill pudo manipular el grado de hambre de sus trabajadores y, por lo tanto, la disponibilidad de mano de obra.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>El caf\u00e9 desempe\u00f1aba un papel fundamental en la dieta dise\u00f1ada por Hill, ya que sus capataces observaron que la introducci\u00f3n de \u00abpausas oficiales para el caf\u00e9\u00bb pod\u00eda mejorar la productividad de los trabajadores&nbsp;<span class='whitespace-nowrap'><span id='easy-footnote-1-85770' class='easy-footnote-margin-adjust'><\/span><span class='easy-footnote'><a href='https:\/\/legrandcontinent.eu\/es\/2025\/12\/20\/cuanto-mas-rico-es-un-pais-mas-cafe-se-consume\/#easy-footnote-bottom-1-85770' title='Augustine Sedgewick, &lt;em&gt;Coffeeland: One Man&amp;#8217;s Dark Empire and the Making of Our Favorite Drug&lt;\/em&gt;, Penguin Books, 2020.'><sup>1<\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/span>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Los estudios demuestran que, cuando se consume en peque\u00f1as dosis, la cafe\u00edna mejora la atenci\u00f3n y el estado de alerta durante la jornada laboral. En algunas profesiones de riesgo, un mayor consumo de caf\u00e9 tambi\u00e9n puede contribuir a reducir los fallos cognitivos y limitar los accidentes laborales&nbsp;<span class='whitespace-nowrap'><span id='easy-footnote-2-85770' class='easy-footnote-margin-adjust'><\/span><span class='easy-footnote'><a href='https:\/\/legrandcontinent.eu\/es\/2025\/12\/20\/cuanto-mas-rico-es-un-pais-mas-cafe-se-consume\/#easy-footnote-bottom-2-85770' title='Smith AP, \u00ab&lt;a href=&quot;https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/16106485\/&quot;&gt;Caffeine at work&lt;\/a&gt;\u00bb, &lt;em&gt;Hum Psychopharmacol&lt;\/em&gt;, 2005, vol.20, n\u00b06, p.441-445.'><sup>2<\/sup><\/a><\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si bien no existe una relaci\u00f3n causal entre el crecimiento econ\u00f3mico y el consumo de caf\u00e9, se observa una correlaci\u00f3n: cuanto m\u00e1s rico es un pa\u00eds, mayor es su consumo de caf\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"iframe-container wp-block-image wp-block-image-medium  iframe-dw\">\n\t<div>\n\t\t<iframe class=\"absolute w-full h-full pin-t pin-l\" title=\"titolo\" aria-label=\"Interactive line chart\" src=\"\/\/datawrapper.dwcdn.net\/6wU61\/\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>De hecho, cuando una poblaci\u00f3n dispone de una mayor renta disponible \u2014como es el caso de China, donde el PIB per c\u00e1pita pas\u00f3 de unos 300 d\u00f3lares en 1990 a 13.000 d\u00f3lares en 2024\u2014, tiende a adoptar nuevos h\u00e1bitos y aficiones.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Esto tambi\u00e9n se explica por la urbanizaci\u00f3n, la expansi\u00f3n del sector servicios y un mejor acceso a los productos importados.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Este aumento del consumo ha favorecido la aparici\u00f3n de empresas chinas especializadas en caf\u00e9.
