Algunos tuvieron la suerte, como yo, de nacer en los a\u00f1os 1940. Tuvieron el privilegio de presenciar toda la carrera del mejor futbolista de todos los tiempos. Para quienes no tuvieron ese privilegio, la muerte de Pel\u00e9 parece un acontecimiento m\u00e1s en la vida de una persona. Pero para los amantes del f\u00fatbol, los recuerdos deportivos de esta extraordinaria carrera son experiencias inolvidables en una vida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Para quienes han vivido esta larga y maravillosa carrera, no cabe duda de que Pel\u00e9 fue el mejor futbolista de todos los tiempos. Era dif\u00edcil apoyar al equipo contra el que jugaba Pel\u00e9, aunque yo era hincha del Palmeiras, el equipo que dominaba la liga en aquella \u00e9poca. Y era imposible no reconocer el brillante juego de Pel\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jugador que, desde muy joven, pateaba el bal\u00f3n con los dos pies con igual habilidad. Era igualmente excelente para cabecear, dotado como ning\u00fan otro, aunque no era muy alto. Regateaba como ning\u00fan otro jugador y marcaba goles \u00fanicos, driblando, esquivando, de la defensa al ataque, siempre hacia la porter\u00eda. Para los brasile\u00f1os, la consagraci\u00f3n no tard\u00f3 en llegar, gracias a su actuaci\u00f3n sin parang\u00f3n en el Mundial de Suecia, cuando a\u00fan ten\u00eda 17 a\u00f1os. Dirigi\u00f3 partidos extraordinarios, para cualquier jugador, a cualquier edad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Llev\u00f3 a Brasil al techo del mundo en tres ocasiones: 1958, 1962 y 1970. De nuevo, un r\u00e9cord sin parang\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Afortunadamente, existen antolog\u00edas de las incomparables obras que hizo, invent\u00f3, cre\u00f3 y recre\u00f3. De lo contrario, ser\u00eda dif\u00edcil hacer que las nuevas generaciones tomaran la medida de sus brillantes inspiraciones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pel\u00e9 fue el jugador perfecto. El hombre que hab\u00eda encandilado a Brasil encandil\u00f3 al mundo entero. Al conseguir resultados sin precedentes con el Santos, al vencer a los mejores equipos del mundo, fue \u00e9l quien convirti\u00f3 a Brasil en el pa\u00eds del f\u00fatbol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Como futbolista, era un genio.
