A History<\/em>, paru en janvier 2025 aux Princeton University Press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans ce livre, <a href=\"https:\/\/legrandcontinent.eu\/fr\/p\/Isaac-Stanley-Becker\/\">Isaac Stanley-Becker<\/a> explore la cr\u00e9ation controvers\u00e9e de la libre circulation dans l&#8217;espace Schengen, depuis la conclusion de trait\u00e9s lors de sommets europ\u00e9ens et les litiges devant les tribunaux internationaux jusqu&#8217;aux manifestations de rue des immigrants sans papiers qui revendiquaient la libre circulation comme un droit humain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cr\u00e9\u00e9 en 1985, l\u2019espace Schengen regroupe aujourd&#8217;hui vingt-neuf pays europ\u00e9ens. Il permet aux personnes, aux biens et aux capitaux de franchir les fronti\u00e8res sans restriction. Schengen a transform\u00e9 la vie europ\u00e9enne, faisant progresser \u00e0 la fois un projet d\u00e9mocratique de citoyennet\u00e9 transnationale et un projet n\u00e9olib\u00e9ral de libre-\u00e9change international.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mais le droit \u00e0 la libre circulation a toujours exclu les non-Europ\u00e9ens, en particulier les migrants de couleur issus des anciennes colonies des \u00c9tats membres de l\u2019espace Schengen.
